Role Lead collaboratorDescriptionGuy Melançon serves as a professor at the University of Bordeaux in France. He obtained his Ph.D. in mathematics from the University of Quebec in Montreal in 1991. Following that, he became a lecturer in Bordeaux and later took up a research position at CWI in Amsterdam, Netherlands, from 1998 to 2000. Subsequently, he accepted a professorial position at the University of Montpellier. In 2007, Melançon returned to Bordeaux to head an Inria project team, a role he held until 2012. His research activities span a vast network of European collaborators, evolving through various projects under the FP6, FP7, and H2020 campaigns. From 2018 to 2022, he served as the Vice-President overseeing digital affairs at the University of Bordeaux.
His expertise in network analysis, with a particular emphasis on visualization, holds significant relevance in the realm of criminal sciences. This encompasses the development of data mining algorithms as well as the creation of interactive visualization systems to aid in the analysis of criminal data.
